I have found that I send my CV to lots of jobsites but don't get any replies or just rejections. I know I have the skills asked for by the job ad so there must be something about the look that puts them off. I will try using the tips in this article and let you know if anything changes.

I have recently sent my CV to a number of agencies and have been given different advice. Some say that it should be no more than a page long while others have said it should include my full work history, which makes it about 5 pages.

Andrew, the current thinking is that businesses don't have time to wade through very long CV's. Our advice is to provide a short work summary including your key skills and qualifications. After this, detail the work you have done that is relevant to the role you are applying for. CV's really need to be tailored in this way to the company you are applying to, so that they see whhat they need to see and don't reject on the basis that there is too much for them to bother reading.
